Q.I have Sjogren’s syndrome, and about a month ago I started having problems with my right arm and leg. They feel heavy, weak and tire easily. Could this be related to the Sjogren’s?

A.Sjogren’s syndrome is a disorder characterized by inflammation of specific glands in the body, particularly the salivary and lacrimal glands.

The salivary glands produce saliva, and the lacrimal glands produce tears. That means dryness of the eyes and mouth are the most common features of Sjogren’s syndrome.

Ninety percent of Sjogren’s syndrome patients are women, and their average age is 50 years.
