Recently there has been a spate of teenage violence in and around the nation’s schools. Are guns and their availability really the cause or are they the symptom? Is there another answer outside of gun control?

A few months ago in an area near Glendale, California, two teenage boys were killed in an alleged “drug deal gone bad” — one with a rock. There were no guns involved. What is the cause of this anger and hostility perpetrated by our nation’s youth? (more…)

You know, the ones that say, ‘Sniff 8 drops of this for a cold, or 12 drops of that in your bath to relieve stress.’ Is there truth in all of this? Footwork can be tricky for the beginner, so here are a few pointers and tips on how to make the most from your sessions on the rock.

First of all, your biggest muscles in your foot are the ones comprising your big toe. That is why your foot is so cramped in those tight little shoes. The shoe puts your big toe up front, making it the weight bearer for your body. All of your weight is centered on that little one square inch (more or less) of space. Another Chemical-Cancer Scare Is Discredited

One of the favorite myths of some breast cancer advocacy groups is that environmental chemicals contribute to the increased risk of breast cancer among women living in certain areas. One such area is Long Island. A new study by a group of researchers affiliated with the American Health Foundation in Valhalla, N.Y., has joined a number of other studies refuting such a link.
