Depending on which version you read, the kidney heist legend warns business travelers, college students, or partygoers in general to beware of a crime ring of organ-harvesting surgeons. According to the legend, the victims, after being drugged, wake up in a hotel bathtub full of ice to find a note taped to the wall instructing them not to move, and to call 911 immediately. Sometimes the message is written on the bathroom mirror, other times it is written in lipstick across the victim’s chest. The victim has had either one or both of his kidneys removed. (more…)
